An expedition that is breaking barriers and records!

Imagine flying around in the world in a small, bird-like plane that skims the skies and yet affords you spectacular views of the Earth below.

That is the WE! Expedition.

A circumnavigation of the Earth in a Light Sport Aircraft (LSA) is a feat so difficult that it has only ever been accomplished five times before, and never by a woman.

Once completed, the WE! Expedition and its all-woman team will be breaking barriers and records and creating a series of firsts:

  1. World record for the first circumnavigation in an LSA by women pilots
  2. World First for an all-woman, non-commercial, civilian expedition
  3. First circumnavigation in an LSA by Indian pilots, man or woman

WE! took off from Patiala, India on July 30, 2018, and landed in Kulusuk, Greenland 51 days later to complete Phase I of the expedition from Tropic to Arctic – the first time in the world that an all-woman team has flown a Light Sport Aircraft from India to Greenland.

Phase II of the WE! Expedition is being flown solo by Aarohi Pandit. She flew solo across the Atlantic Ocean, from Wick, Scotland to Iqaluit, Canada, to become the first woman in the world to do so in a Light Sport Aircraft.
